An overdraft can happen to anyone for any number of reasons. When mistakes happen, the Bank strives to pay overdrafts on the transactions listed below through Standard Overdraft services:
- Checks
- Automatic bill payments
- Telephone-initiated transfers or other electronic transfers
PREAUTHORIZED AUTOMATIC DEBITS
We do not authorize and pay overdrafts for the transactions listed below unless you authorize us to do so. Affirmative opt-in is required.
- ATM transactions
- Everyday debit card transactions
Overdrafts are paid at the Bank's discretion. Therefore, the Bank does not guarantee that it will always authorize and pay any type of transaction.
If the Bank does not authorize and pay an overdraft, your transaction will be declined
Kleberg Bank's Overdraft service is discretionary, we will charge a fee of $35 for each time we pay an overdraft. Kleberg Bank does not charge any fees for items that are returned or declined due to NSF.
OPTIONAL SERVICES
Courtesy Overdraft Plus Service — If you inform us, discretionary Courtesy Overdraft service may also be extended to cover the following types of consumer transactions:
- ATM withdrawals and transfers
- Everyday debit card purchases
Account Sweep for Overdrafts — You can link another checking or savings account. If you overdraw your checking account, the Bank will automatically transfer funds from one of your checking or savings accounts at no charge. LEARN MORE about opting-in to this service.
Free Email or Text Alerts — Free email and text alerts let you know when your balance drops below a set level or if you have an overdraft. Log-in to online banking to set your alert options.

Monitor Your Balance — Track the money you deposit and withdraw from your account using Kleberg Bank's Online Banking on a regular basis.
